Tulane Drops Two to Close Tiger Beach Challenge

BATON ROUGE, La. – The eight-match winning streak for Tulane University beach volleyball came to an end on Sunday as the Green Wave fell in both duals at the Tiger Beach Challenge. The Wave faced stiff competition dropping 4-1 to Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and 3-2 to No. 7 LSU.

Against the Islanders in the first dual of the day Tulane secured its only point on court four in a two-set victory by Samantha Green and Skylar Ensign. The Green Wave dropped the point in two sets on courts one, two, and three. McKenzie Cutler and Amelia Mullen battled on court five taking the first set, but ultimately lost the next two.

The Wave closed out the weekend against its first ranked opponent of the season taking on the seventh-ranked Tigers. Tulane picked up points on courts one and three, but lost in positions two, four, and five. Sara Hall and Molly Trodd earned the point on court one with a three-set win while Lara Torruella and Sam O'Connor picked up the win on court three in two sets.

Up next, the Green Wave will compete in the Horned Frog Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted by TCU on March 8-9.
