
Tulane to Play Four Matches at Horned Frog Challenge

FORT WORTH, Texas – Tulane University beach volleyball (8-2) will travel to the Lone Star State to compete in five duals at the Horned Frog Challenge hosted by TCU on Friday and Saturday.After opening the 2024 campaign with a perfect 5-0 record last weekend, The Green Wave has lost its last two matchups after beginning the 2024 spring season 8-0.

On Friday, Tulane will face UC Davis and the tournament host No. 5 TCU to begin the weekend. The match against the UC Davis Aggies will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by the showdown between the Wave and the Horned Frogs at 3:30 p.m.

The Green Wave has only faced the Aggies once before earning a 4-1 victory at the Mustang Invitational in San Luis Obispo, California, last spring. Tulane is 4-7 all-time against TCU including five straight losses to the Horned Frogs. This is the first meeting between the Wave and TCU since the 2022 CCSA Conference tournament. The last time the Green Wave defeated the Horned Frogs came at the FIU Surf 'N Turf in Miami, Florida, in 2019 by a final score of 3-2.

Tulane will meet Texas A&M – Corpus Christi for the second weekend in a row and play its second match of the season against Stephen F. Austin on Sunday. The Wave and Islanders will take the sand at 7:30 a.m. followed by Tulane's match with Stephen F. Austin at 9:30 a.m.

Last weekend at the Tiger Beach Challenge the Green Wave lost to Corpus Christi 4-1 dropping to 4-2 all-time against the Islanders. The last time Tulane beat Corpus Christi was in 2022 at the Tulane Classic 3-2. The Wave is undefeated against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks with a 5-0 record including a 4-1 victory during the opening weekend of the season in the Green Wave Invitational.

Following the Horned Frog Challenge, Tulane will return to the Bayou State for the Sugar Beach Bash hosted by Southeastern in Youngsville, Louisiana. The tournament will run from March 15-16.
