Tulane Faces No. 24 South Florida in Final Road Bout of the Season

TAMPA, Fla. – Tulane University men's basketball (13-15, 4-12) will try to break its six-game losing streak on Tuesday when it takes on No. 24 South Florida (22-5, 15-1) in the Yuengling Center. The Green Wave has not lost six consecutive games since the 2019-20 season.

The game between the Green Wave and the Bulls is set to tipoff at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+. This marks the 43rd all-time meeting between the Green Wave and the Bulls with Tulane leading in the series 25-17. Tulane has won the last four matchups including three-straight in Tampa. The Wave holds a 12-9 record overall against the Bulls on the road. The last time Tulane faced South Florida in Tampa the Green Wave won 84-66 on February 18, 2023. Tulane has not lost to the Bulls since January 29, 2020, in New Orleans by a final score of 66-52.

In its last time out, Tulane lost its sixth consecutive game as it fell 79-73 on the road to Florida Atlantic on Saturday. The loss marked the first time the Green Wave has lost six games in a row since losing eight straight during the 2019-20 season. Tulane outscored the Owls in second chance points (16-8) and bench points (21-16), but a poor performance at the free throw line (14-of-24) cost the Wave the chance to complete a 20-point second half comeback. Collin Holloway led the Green Wave with 19 points including 16 coming in the second half.

South Florida enters the matchup on a 14-game winning streak including 12 in a row at home. The Bulls are 14-2 at home this season including a perfect 8-0 record in conference play. On Sunday, the Bulls clinched their first American Athletic Conference regular season title with a 76-61 win at Charlotte.

South Florida ranks 25th in the nation in bench points averaging 28.07 per game. Three players average double figures in scoring for the Bulls led by Chris Youngblood at 15.0 points per game and Selton Miguel at 14.9.

Following the game at South Florida, the Green Wave will host Wichita State in Uptown for Senior Night on Friday, March 8. The game between Tulane and the Shockers is set to tipoff at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
