
Green Wave Sailing Travels Northeast for Two Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University sailing team will hit the road this weekend for two separated regattas in the northeast on Saturday and Sunday. The Green Wave coed squad will compete in the John Jackson Memorial Team Race while the Wave women's team will take part in the Jen Harris Women's Team Race.

The John Jackson Memorial Team Race will be hosted by Georgetown in Washington, D.C. at the Washington Sailing Marina on the waters of the Potomac River. Tulane will race among seven other teams in the regatta including Georgetown, Old Dominion, Fordham, Penn, Connecticut College, Boston College, and Vermont.

Competition is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday in the John Jackson Memorial Team Race. The Green Wave will be represented in the regatta by skippers Hamilton Barclay, Zander King, and Kelly Holthus with crews Gillian Perrell, CJ Ricci, Alex Makoid, Essie Clifton, and Brady Starck. Tulane will also have alternates Matheo Capasso and Jack Solmo available at the regatta.

At the Jen Harris Women's Team Race Tulane will race against a field that includes 11 other teams – Penn, College of Charleston, Cornell, Brown, Navy, Old Dominion, South Florida, Boston College, Yale, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and George Washington. The regatta will be hosted by Navy with the racing area to be the mouth of Back Creek off the Severn River.

Racing for the Jen Harris Women's Team Race is set to start at 9 a.m CT on Saturday and 9:45 a.m. CT on Sunday. The Green Wave will be represented on the water by skippers Mia Hanes, Audrey Permenter, Ava Anderson, and Sammie Gardner with crews Ellie and Lucy Spearman, Caitlin Briggs, Sloane Mullin, Abigail Borggaard, and Cate Anderson.
