NEW ORLEANS – Competition at the two northeast regattas for Tulane University sailing was cut short after high winds shut down racing on Sunday. The scores from Saturday determined the final standings as the Green Wave finished fourth at the John Jackson Memorial Team Race and the Wave landed seventh at the Jen Harris Women's Team Race.
Â
Tulane ended the John Jackson Memorial Team Race hosted by Georgetown with a 4-3 record after results from round one were used to determine the final standings. Skippers Zander King, Kelly Holthus, and Hamilton Barclay with crews Alex Makoid, Gillian Perrell, and CJ Ricci led the Wave to wins over Connecticut College, Fordham, Penn, and Vermont in the lone round of races.
Â
At the Jen Harris Women's Team Race hosted by Navy racing was abandoned on Sunday and the results from the round robin stood as final. Tulane recorded a 4-7 mark in the round robin with wins over Navy, Old Dominion, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and George Washington behind the racing of skippers Mia Hanes, Audrey Permenter, Ava Anderson, and Sammie Gardner with crews Ellie Spearman, Abigail Borggaard, Caitlin Briggs, Cate Anderson, and Lucy Spearman.
Â
Up next, the Green Wave will return to the northeast for two more regattas. Tulane will compete in the Graham Hall Team Race in Annapolis, Maryland, and the St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race in St. Mary's City, Maryland, on March 16-17.
