
Green Wave Opens Fall Campaign in Lone Star State

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing begins its fall season this weekend in Corpus Christi, Texas, competing in three separate regattas. The Green Wave will be racing in the SEISA Match Race Championship, the SEISA Open and Women's Singlehanded Championship, and the Lone Star Regatta all hosted by Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.

The Wave finished in first place in the SEISA Match Race and Singlehanded Championships as well as the Lone Star Fleet Race last season in Corpus Christi, Texas. Hamilton Barclay claimed the open singlehanded title for Tulane while Ava Anderson secured the women's singlehanded championship.

Competition on the opening weekend of the fall for the Green Wave will begin with the SEISA Match Race Championship on Friday, September 11. Tulane will race against Texas A&M in a three-rotation regatta for the championship. The event slated to begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday with a winner to be announced following the three races.

On Saturday racing will begin for the Wave in the Singlehanded Open and Women's Championships as well as the Lone Star Regatta. Competition is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. for the women's singlehanded championship while racing for the open singlehanded championship will begin 30 minutes after the completion of the women's championship. The Lone Star Regatta will begin racing at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Representing Tulane in the singlehanded championships will be Anderson, Paloma Arrigo, Oakley Cunningham, and Perrin Mueller on the women's side and Barclay, Tate Christopher, and Alejo Di Blasi in the open race. The other teams represented in the singlehanded championships will be individuals from Texas and Texas A&M.

Racing in the Lone Star Regatta will continue Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. The Green Wave will race against teams from Palm Beach Atlantic, Texas A&M, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas A&M – Galveston, and Texas during the two-day regatta.
