
Tulane Ready for Weekend Road Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will hit the road for its final regular season regattas this weekend from April 13-14. The Green Wave will be competing in the Thompson Trophy Team Race in New London, Connecticut, and the Oberg Trophy Fleet Race in Boston.

The Thompson Trophy Team Race will be hosted by Connecticut College on the waters of the Thames River. The Green Wave will race among eight teams in the regatta including Boston College, Brown, Connecticut College, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Tufts.

Competition at the Thompson Trophy Team Race is scheduled to begin by 10:15 a.m. CT on Saturday and 9:15 a.m. CT on Sunday.

Northeastern University and MIT will host the Oberg Trophy Fleet Race at the Walter C. Wood Sailing Pavilion on the waters of the Charles River. Tulane will be competing in a field of 16 teams which includes Boston, Brown, College of Charleston, Fordham, Maine Maritime, MIT, Northeastern, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, NY Maritime, Salve Regina, Tufts, Coast Guard, Rhode Island, and Yale.

Racing is set to start by 10 a.m. CT on Saturday and by 9 a.m. CT on Sunday for the Oberg Trophy Fleet Race.
