Track and Field’s Kara Schiek Leads on Opening Day of Pacific Coast Intercollegiate

Long Beach, California – Kara Schiek finished 13th in the women's javelin at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday at Jack Rose Track to lead Tulane's track and field program on the day.
Schiek had a leap of 37.43m/122'9" to finish 13th overall in the competition.
Also competing on the opening day for the team was Kate Sander in the pole vault. Sander had a leap of 3.61m/11'10" to rank 37th in the event.
Next, the program competes in three meets on Friday as the program is at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, California, the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California and the Strawberry Relays in Hammond, Louisiana.
