Tulane Set to Compete in ICSA Team Race Championships

BOSTON – Tulane University sailing will begin competition in the 2024 ICSA Team Race National Championships Thursday on the Charles River. The Green Wave will compete in the ICSA Open Team Race Championship from April 25-27 followed by the ICSA Women's Team Race Championship from April 28-29.

The ICSA Team Race Championships will be co-hosted by MIT and Harvard with the Open Championship being held at the MIT Sailing Pavilion and the Women's Championship taking place at the Harvard Boathouse.

Tulane will be one of six conference champions in the field for the Open Team Race Championship. The other automatic qualifiers for the regatta include Georgetown, Wisconsin, Yale, Stanford, and College of Charleston. The remainder of the field is filled out by at-large selections including Harvard, Brown, Roger Williams, US Coast Guard Academy, Dartmouth, Navy, MIT, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Boston College, and Tufts.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the Open Championship. Competition will also be streamed live on ESPN+ all three days. The live stream will begin at 12 p.m. CT and run through the end of the day on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday the stream will begin at 9 a.m. CT and run through the end of events.

The Green Wave will also be one of six conference champions represented in the Women's Team Race Championship. The other automatic qualifiers include Cornell, Wisconsin, Yale, Stanford, and College of Charleston. Rounding out the field for the regatta will be at-large selections Boston College, Dartmouth, Penn, Harvard, Brown, and MIT.

The races are set to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday and Monday. Live streaming will also be available both days on ESPN+ beginning at 12 p.m. CT and running through the end of each day.

Last spring Tulane finished tied for eighth in the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship in Stanford, California, and 12th overall in the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship in Kings Point, New York.
