Making Waves in Paris: Tharushi Karunarathna Competes for Sri Lanka

Karunarathna placed eighth in sixth heat of the first round with a time of 2:07.76. Her time, if she it had been at Tulane, would have placed her fifth all-time at the school. She will next compete in the repechage round on August 3 at 4:10 a.m.
In the repechage round, Karaunarathna ran a 2:06.66 to place seventh in the fourth heat. Her time, if it had been at Tulane, would have placed her tied for second all-time. Overall in the repechage round she earned 27th of 30 runners
The semifinals of the 800m begins on August 4 at 1:35 p.m. CT while the finals of the event are on August 5 at 2:45 p.m. CT.
The 800m Round 1 and the Repechage Round will be shown live on the Peacock Network while the semifinals of the 800m will be shown on NBC and the Peacock Network.
