Apr 8, 2026 | Track & Field
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Tulane outdoor track and field team is back in action this weekend with a trip to the Lone Star State for the 44 Farms Team Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M. The three-day event begins tomorrow and runs through Saturday, April 11, at E.B Cushing Stadium.
Live results can be found here. The final two days of the meet will stream on SEC Network +.
Tulane will be in action all three days, primarily sending women's competitors. Action begins Thursday with the women's heptathlon, which Sofie Groeninger will compete in. The first of the events is the 100m hurdles at noon. The heptathlon concludes on Friday with the field and track events for the weekend picking up. In the field events, Cara Salsberry will participate in the discus and hammer throw. Brianna Brand will compete in the long jump. On the track, Zaria Parker and Marissa Gordon will race in the 200m. Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas will take on the 400m hurdles, and the trio of Maria Alduan, Eliza Brand, and Jasper Newton will run in both the 800m and 1,500m. The final day of action on Saturday kicks off with field events at 10:00 a.m. when Ali Saunders competes in the javelin. Aiden Yang, one of two men's athletes in action for Tulane, will take on the men's javelin at 1:00 p.m. Camille Cummings and Presley Wolfe will participate in the pole vault. Back to the track, Dumonteil Cabanas and Gordon will run in the 400m. Brianna Brand and Parker will race in the women's 100m with Lee Hariss hitting the lanes in the men's 100m.
The Wave last competed two weeks ago in the Raleigh Relays with multiple top marks. Salsberry delivered the third-best discus result in program history at 48.22m. In the 3,000m steeplechase, Alex Sharp and Allison Hall notched the third- and eighth-best times in program history. Gilbert Rono recorded the seventh-best time in program history for the 1,500m, and Silas Kiptanui shined with a time of 8:29.21 in the 3,000m steeplechase. His mark is second in the nation this season. In the 400m hurdles, Dumonteil Cabanas ran her way into the program's top 10, notching the eighth-best mark.
In the women's 5,000m, Blezzin Kimutai ran a 15:54.81 to place 13th in a rain-affected race. This mark is currently 38th in the NCAA, and the performance earned her American Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors on March 31.
The campaign continues next week with a split weekend of action for the Wave. The team will diverge with competition in the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational. The former is hosted by Azusa Pacific in Azusa, California, from April 16-18. The Tom Tellez takes place in Houston, Texas, on April 17 and 18, and the meet is hosted by the University of Houston. From there, the campaign will begin to wind down with just two more weekends of action in the regular season remaining before the American Conference Outdoor Championships in mid-May.
