Wave Quartet Readies for Weekend Action in Thibodeaux, Tulsa

NEW ORLEANS – Four members of the Tulane men's tennis team will be in action this weekend as the Green Wave tackles the Battle Down the Bayou in Thibodeaux and the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa.
The Thibodeaux competition gets underway at 9 a.m. on Friday with Charlie Burdell and Steven Rice representing the team. Burdell squares off with Marcus Mail of UNO, while Rice takes on Haruki Omori-Cowie of Lamar. The Tulane tandem will also play doubles together throughout the weekend.
Meanwhile, Tulane's Luka Petrovic and Luc Hoeijmans will represent the team at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa. The tournament will have a singles draw size of the following: Singles Pre-Qualifying (128), Qualifying (64) and Main Draw (64). From this, ten players (10) will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists).
Petrovic and Hoeijmans will be in action in the singles pre-qualifying draw on Saturday. Petrovic squares off with Chase Thompson of Notre Dame at 8 a.m., while Hoeijmans faces the Fighting Irish's Yu Zhang at 10.
