Tulane Sits Eighth After Opening Round at Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. – Gabriella Gilrowski shoots under par to put Tulane golf in eighth place in a field of 16 teams after the first round of the Schooner Fall Classic hosted by Oklahoma at Belmar Golf Club. Gilrowski tallied three birdies in her opening round to shoot a 69 (-1) and rank tied for ninth overall.
The Green Wave carded a first round score of 285 to sit just three strokes out of the top five at +5.
Matilde Innocenti was the next player on the leaderboard for the Wave after the first 18 holes as she ranks tied for 16th among the 88 players in the tournament. The Florence, Italy, native posted an even par 70 with one birdie on the day.
Next up for the Green Wave were senior Ruhee Pandit and freshman Cristina Albertazzi each with a 73 (+3) in the first round. Pandit posted a team-high four birdies through the opening 18 holes.
Rounding out the group for Tulane was freshman Francesca Pompa who ended the day tied for 73rd with a 76 (+6).
The Green Wave will be back on the course at Belmar Golf Club Sunday morning for the second round of the Schooner Fall Classic. The first tee time for the Green Wave is set for 8:30 a.m. with all five players for Tulane starting the day at the first hole.
