Sep 29, 2024 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – The pairing of Sammie Gardner and Hope Breslin highlighted the weekend for Tulane sailing as the Green Wave finished third in the Women's ACC's Round 1B in Providence, Rhode Island. The Wave also landed seventh for the Danmark Trophy after no races were completed on Sunday in New London, Connecticut.
Gardner and Breslin shined for the Green Wave at the Women's ACC's Round 1B over the weekend. The duo finished first in the A Division with 38 total points – 13 points ahead of the second-place team. Their performance on the water helped Tulane end the regatta in third with 105 points overall.
In the B Division of the Women's ACC's Round 1B the Wave was represented by Ava Anderson and Ella May Corckran who ended fifth in the division with 67 total points.
Due to a lack of consistent wind at the Danmark Trophy no races were completed on Sunday. Ultimately, Tulane finished seventh overall in the race for the Danmark Trophy with 143 total points through eight rotations.
Up next, the Green Wave will return to the northeast for the Open ACC Round 1 in St. Mary's City, Maryland, and the Stu Nelson Trophy in New London, Connecticut. Both regattas will be held on October 5-6.
