Blazers Knock off Green Wave, 6-1

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's Hady Elkordy registered a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles, but that was all the Green Wave could muster against a stout UAB squad, who secured a 6-1 victory Wednesday afternoon at City Park Tennis Center.
The Blazers (2-1) captured the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2. The No. 3 match went unfinished.
The singles matches were played to completion. Tulane's Asaf Friedler and Maxim Kalinin took the first set in their contests at Nos. 4 and 5 before eventually falling.
The Green Wave (1-3) will be back in action Sunday at 9 a.m. when it travels to No. 14 Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are 6-1 this season.
