Bowling Splits Opening Day At Columbia 300 Saints Invite

ST. LOUIS – Tulane Bowling went 2-2 during its first day of play in the Columbia 300 Saints Invite hosted by Maryville University. Tomorrow, they will return to the lanes to play Newman, McKendree, Oklahoma Christian, Valparaiso, and Wichita State in five traditional matches.Â
Tulane opened the day against Central Missouri, who narrowly won the match 941-927. Tulane decidedly took games one (200-162) and five (233-150), but Central Missouri claimed two, three, and four 244-157, 186-174, and 199-163.Â
The Green Wave secured its first win of the day against Lewis University, defeating the Flyers 949-933. Tulane prevailed in games one (201-195), three (205-145), and five (193-192) to decide the win, negating Lewis' wins in games two (215-179) and four (186-171).Â
Maryville came out on top 1042-949 during the Wave's third match of the day. Tulane started the match with a win in game one 193-191, but fell in the remaining sets 188-175, 194-191, 224-207, and 245-183.Â
Tulane ended the day with a victory, however, as they triumphed over Indianapolis 1021-829. The Wave swept the Greyhounds in all five games, winning them 163-137, 195-143, 216-167, 212-181, and 235-201.Â
Tomorrow, Bowling will pick up play at 9:30 a.m. and take on Newman to start the day
The Green Wave totaled 4,825 points and placed 12th for the day. Wichita State, Wright State, and UAB placed first through third.Â
