Tulane Athletics Announces the Launch of Ascend TUgether

Tulane Athletics has announced the launch of Ascend TUgether, a Green Wave Club fundraising campaign dedicated to growing philanthropic support of Tulane Athletics to record highs, empowering student-athlete success and strengthening Green Wave Athletics.

With an immediate goal to raise $4 million in unrestricted giving and grow Green Wave Club membership to 3,500 donors by May 2025, the campaign aims to fortify Tulane Athletics amidst the evolving collegiate athletics landscape.

"As those who follow college athletics know, this is a time of enormous change in our industry. Throughout that change and whatever evolution is to come, the foundation of our department is built on gifts to the Green Wave Club," said Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair, David Harris. "There are numerous ways to support Tulane Athletics, but this is clear: In order to achieve the lofty goals we have for Tulane Athletics, we must grow Green Wave Club donor support. That will happen one donor and one gift at a time, so I graciously ask you to consider a gift to the Green Wave Club if you are able.

"As a department, we have taken on significant new expenses and are prepared to meet the needs of the moment in a meaningful way. We recognize the future college athletics landscape will only increase the pressure for expanded resources and the work to grow department revenues is never-ending. Your support as a Green Wave Club member is critical as we work to Ascend TUgether."

Green Wave Club members contributed a record $3.6 million to Tulane Athletics' annual fund in Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024). Through Ascend TUgether, Tulane aims to improve upon this mark and surpass $4 million in annual giving for the first time in department history.

"We're achieving unprecedented success across our programs, and we must capitalize on this momentum," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, Justin Berger. "We know that as success in college athletics gets more expensive, our self-generated revenues must keep pace with our growing expenses. Our Green Wave Family is passionate, generous, and as excited about Tulane Athletics as ever. We're confident they're ready to answer the call to support our programs in a record way."

Tulane Athletics is also aiming to set a donor participation record through Ascend TUgether. Green Wave Club membership of 3,500 would represent a new department record as well as a 12% year-over-year increase from 3,123 members in Fiscal Year 2024.

"Gifts to the Green Wave Club are unrestricted in nature, meaning they directly support the expenses required to operate our department at a high level and provide the very best environment for our student-athletes and coaches. Put simply, unrestricted annual support is the lifeblood of our department," said Mike Miller, Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation. "Ascend TUgether will continue to support our department's growth well into the future."
