NEW ORLEANS – Visiting South Florida came out of the gates fast against host Tulane and registered a 3-1 victory in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Sunday.

The Bulls (9-8 overall, 5-1 American) downed the Green Wave 25-15, 25-11, 21-25 and 25-21. Tulane dropped to 9-8 and 1-5 in the league.

The visitors got a combined 33 kills from the tandem of Maria Clara Andrade and Laila Ivey and 29 digs from Samiha Foster and Miya Thomas.Â

Tulane was led by Lauryn Mack's 11 kills, while Avery Burks chipped in nine. Dayla Ortiz contributed 14 digs.

The Green Wave rebounded in the match's third set, breaking a 16-all tie by winning eight of the next 10 points. Foster's service error ultimately clinched the set for the home team.

Tulane kept the fourth set close as well, tying it at 17-all on a Mack kill. However, the Bulls pulled away, winning eight of the next 12 points to close the contest.
