
Green Wave Ready to Tee Off from Paradise

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane golf will continue its fall slate Hawaii, at the 28th Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii this week. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the Ocean Course at Hokuala in Līhu'e, Kaua'I, from Monday to Wednesday, October 20-22.

The Green Wave will be represented in the three-day tournament by six players. Sophia Chen, Sophia Macias, Francesca Pompa, Gabriella Gilrowski, and Cristina Albertazzi will hit the course as the starters for the Wave while Tonka Zacharovska will compete as an individual.

The Rainbow Wahine Invitational field features 19 teams highlighted by nine teams ranked in Scoreboard's Top 100 national rankings including No. 15 Baylor, No. 30 Kansas, No. 32 Missouri, No. 35 Eastern Michigan, No. 57 Sacramento State, No. 85 Santa Clara, No. 89 Boise State, No. 91 BYU, and No. 94 Long Beach State. Tulane will round out the rest of the field in the tournament alongside Grand Canyon, Idaho, Kennesaw State, Nevada, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), San Diego State, Washington State, Wyoming, and tournament host Hawaii.

Action in the 54-hole tournament will begin with shotgun starts on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Teams will tee off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Monday and Tuesday followed by a 2 p.m. CT start on Wednesday. Tulane will open the tournament playing alongside Santa Clara, Nevada, and Missouri.

In its last time out, the Green Wave was led by Chen who tied for 15th overall with a 54-hole score of 216 (E – 71, 72, 73) to help the team place eighth at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Denver on October 5.
