
Chen Shoots Two Under to Pace Round Two for the Wave at Rainbow Wahine Invitational

KAUA'I, Hawaii – Sophia Chen led the way for Tulane women's golf on day two of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational as she posted a 70 (-2) on Tuesday. However, the Green Wave moved into a tie for 11th in the field of 19 teams in the tournament at the close of the second round of action.

Through 36 holes of play from Ocean Course Hokuala Chen sits tied for 13th overall with a two-day score of 144 (E). She moved up 27 spots on the leaderboard after shooting a 70 (-2) on Tuesday to follow her round of 74 (+2) on Monday. Chen leads the Wave through two rounds with nine total birdies sinking five in her second round.

Cristina Albertazzi followed up her strong first round (70, -2) by shooting a 75 (+3) in the second round to move into a tie for 18th overall at 145 (+1). She recorded her second consecutive round with three birdies to bring her tally to six through 36 holes.

Next up on the leaderboard for Tulane after round two was Francesca Pompa in a tie for 58th with a two-day score of 151 (+7). The sophomore posted a 77 (+5) in round two to follow her 74 (+2) from the first round.

Rounding out the starters for the Wave was Gabriella Gilrowski who sits tied for 83rd overall with a 36-hole score of 154 (+10). Gilrowski followed her 75 (+3) from the opening round with a 79 (+7) in round two.

Tonka Zacharovska was the second biggest climber on day two playing as an individual for the Green Wave. She climbed eight spots in the standings into a tie for 49th overall after shooting her second consecutive round of 75 (+3) to bring her two-round total to 150 (+6). Zacharovska added three birdies on Tuesday to bring her tournament total to seven which ranks second on the team.

UP NEXT
Tulane will finish competition in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational with the third and final round on Wednesday. The Wave will tee off alongside Washington State, Kansas, and Grand Canyon in a shotgun start beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT.
