Swimming and Diving Hosts Olive & Blue Scrimmage This Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane swimming and diving team officially gets back in the pool as the program hosts the Olive & Blue Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 4, starting at 9 a.m. at the Reily Center Natatorium. The event is open to the public so fans can get a sneak preview of the program in action before next week's start of the regular season.
The Olive team will be comprised of Andrea Zeebe, Ece Tanriverdi, Taylor Cekay, Libby Brewer, Kelsey Weddington, Mary Kate Kupsky, Phoebe Johnson, Charley Floyd, Marin Shimkus, Casey Freeman, Ebba Holgersson, Danielle Barberie and Nicole Fant.
The Blue team features Olcaytu Hatipoglu, Sydney Mullin, Lise Coetzee, Eva Shawver, Maya Superfon, Gwen Shahboz, Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou, Rafaela Sumida, Eliza Lennox, Paula Gaya Bisquerra, Layla Allen, Samantha Schoenborn and Tannah Proudfoot.

Tulane's program, under the direction of Head Coach Amanda Caldwell, was picked for fourth in the 2025-26 American Preseason Poll with 35 points.

Next, the team begins the regular season with a two-day dual meet against Liberty from Oct. 10-11 at the Reily Student Recreation Center. It is the first of three home meets this season as the program also hosts Rice on Nov. 7 and the Mardi Gras Invite from Jan. 16-17. The program will also travel and visit the states of Texas (Denton – Oct. 25 & Houston – Nov. 19-21), Florida (Sarasota – Dec. 13 & Pensacola – Jan. 24), Nevada (Las Vegas – Dec. 15-17) and California (San Diego – Dec. 30 – Jan. 5) during the regular season. The squad also makes a trip to Baton Rouge on Nov. 8. The 2026 American Championships are in Greensboro, North from Feb. 18-21. The NCAA Zones are from March 8-11, the NIC Championships are from March 12-14 in Ocala, Fla. while the NCAA Championships are from March 18-21 in Atlanta, Georgia
The program finished the 2024-25 season with 54 top 10 school marks including 10 school records. The team also won six events, had 28 overall all conference marks, a placing of third overall at the league championship meet plus saw Head Coach Amanda Caldwell along with her staff being named the American's Coaching Staff of the Year. The program also had 10 qualify to participate in the National Championship Invitational this season, three divers that earned bids to the Zone D Diving Championship, had four swimmers named to the Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators and six that were CSCAA Scholar All-Americans. Additionally the program had nine NCAA 'B' cuts, placed fifth at the CSCAA Open Water Championships and rack up 10 American Conference Weekly honors (five swimmers of the week, two freshman swimmers of the week, two freshman divers of the week and one conference diver of the week).
