Green Wave to be Represented at College Sailing Match Race Nationals
Nov 14, 2025 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will be represented in the 2025 College Sailing Match Race National Championship this weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida. The championship regatta will be hosted at the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club on Saturday and Sunday, November 15-16.
The Green Wave qualified for the match race nationals through an automatic bid earned by Kelly Holthus as the skipper winning the SEISA Match Race Championship in September. This will be the second consecutive year for Holthus representing the Wave at match race nationals. He led his crew to a seventh-place finish at the 2024 Match Race National Championship in Oyster Bay, New York.
Holthus will be the skipper for Tulane again for the national championship this week. Joining him as his crew for the championship regatta will be Christian Ebbin, Martha Hughes, Lillie Foster, and Sabrina Anderson.
The match race championship will feature sailors from 10 schools including the Green Wave. The teams filling out the remainder of the field will be Boston College, Brown, College of Charleston, Georgetown, Harvard, Illinois, Roger Williams, Stanford, and Navy.
Racing for the championship regatta is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. CT Sunday. The format for the championship will start with a round robin of all the teams followed by stage two to determine seeding for the quarterfinals with the top eight teams. Teams will then compete to advance to the semifinals and then the finals to try and win the title. Results for the College Sailing Match Race National Championship can be found HERE.
