Cross Country Teams Earn National Rankings for Fourth Straight Week
Nov 4, 2025 | Cross Country
New Orleans, LA – For the fourth consecutive week, Tulane University's men's and women's cross country teams have earned national recognition, appearing in the latest rankings from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Green Wave women captured the American Conference championship over the weekend, marking their second conference title in the past three years. The team's dominant performance was highlighted by four top-10 finishes and five All-Conference honorees.
On the men's side, Tulane finished as the conference runner-up, continuing an impressive season that has kept both programs among the nation's elite. The men's team is currently ranked No. 23 nationally, while the women's team sits at No. 30.
In addition to the team achievements, several individuals have stood out throughout the season. Bernard Cheruiyot, Blezzin Kimutai, and Dorcas Naibei each earned multiple conference honors for their performances this fall.
Tulane's coaching staff—Adrian Myers, David Silversmith, and Wondu Summa—was named the American Conference Women's Coaching Staff of the Year, recognizing their leadership in guiding the Green Wave women to another championship.
Both programs have maintained top-two regional rankings for six straight weeks in the NCAA South Central Region, underscoring Tulane's growing prominence on the national cross country scene.
Up next, the Green Wave will compete at the NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Friday, Nov. 14. The women's race begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's race at 11:30 a.m.
