
No. 19 Green Wave Ready for Bulldog Classic

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 19 Tulane University bowling team will conclude its stretch of three-straight weekends in action with the Bulldog Classic, hosted by No. 9 Louisiana Tech at City View Lanes in Forth Worth Texas. The three-day event runs from Friday, November 7, to Sunday, November 9.

The 16-team field is stacked with 10 total ranked teams, including the 19th-ranked Wave. The others are No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Wichita State, No. 6 Arkansas State, No. 8 Sam Houston, No. 9 Louisiana Tech, No. 11 Sacred Heart, and No. 24 Oklahoma Christian. The remaining six unranked squads are Jackson State, Texas Southern, Florida A&M, Alabama State, Southern, and Prairie View A&M.

Two pools were drawn of eight teams each with teams primarily playing across against the other pool. Competition begins on Friday with five Baker matches in cross play. On Saturday, teams play five traditional matches, the first two of which will be against teams within the same pool. The final three will be against the remaining three teams in the other pool that were not played on Friday. Sunday will see bracket play in the best-of-seven Baker format to conclude the event.

Tulane will have a challenging opening day with four its five opponents in the top 25. No. 4 Vanderbilt is the opening match for the Wave with Alabama State following as the lone unranked team on the Friday schedule. Contests against No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 6 Arkansas State, and No. 24 Oklahoma Christian follow.

The Wave is fresh off the TRACK Kat Klash in Houston, Texas, last weekend in which Tulane placed seventh. The Wave posted a 9-4 overall record in the event with 12,901 total pins at a rate of 179.2 per game. Mia Stolakis led the way individually with a score of 932 to place 20th. Emma Fetterman (47th, 732), Juanelyz Solla (49th, 672), and Valeria Colon (50th, 671) all joined her in the top 50.

After competing in three consecutive weekends, Tulane will get a week of reprieve before wrapping up the fall portion of the schedule at home. The Wave hosts the annual Colonial Lanes Classic from November 21 to 23 in Harahan, Louisiana, at Colonial Lanes.
