Tulane Hosts Nicholls for Midweek Match Wednesday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's tennis wraps up its four-match home stand with a battle against in-state foe Nicholls on Wednesday afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center. The Green Wave holds a 6-2 record in home matches so far this season including a ranked win over No. 66 Princeton last week.

The match between the Wave and the Colonels is set to begin at 2 p.m. at the City Park Tennis Center. Fans can follow along with live stats for the match HERE.

This will be the eighth matchup all-time between Tulane and Nicholls with the Green Wave six of the seven previous meetings. In fact, the Wave is on a six-match winning streak against the Colonels including a 4-1 victory in the latest matchup on March 23, 2022, in New Orleans. The only time Tulane has lost to Nicholls was in the first meeting between the two programs on February 7, 2014, at the City Park Pepsi Center when the Wave lost 4-3.

The Green Wave is coming off a 2-1 performance last week during which it defeated crosstown rival UNO 5-2 on March 10 and earned a ranked victory over No. 66 Princeton 4-2 on March 13. Leading the Wave is singles so far this season are Campbell Ricci and Summer Chandler who are a combined 12-5 this spring at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots. In doubles action Tulane is paced by Ricci and Leigh Van Zyl who hold a 6-2 mark together at their No. 1 doubles slot.

Following the match against the Colonels, Tulane will hit the road to Denton, Texas, for a pair of matches this weekend. The Green Wave will square off with UAB for a neutral site match on Saturday, March 22, followed by a road matchup with North Texas on Sunday, March 23.
