Tribby Selected to Team Impact Fellowship
Mar 27, 2025 | Women's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS –Tulane women's tennis player, Delanie Tribby, has been selected to represent Tulane University as a Team Impact Fellow. She will begin her fellowship in July by attending the Team Impact Summit in Boston, Massachusetts.
Tulane University participates in the Team IMPACT program, a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious illness or disability with college sports teams, providing them with support, mentorship, and the joy of sports.Â
The fellowship program is designed to not only allow Tribby to grow Team Impact on the Tulane campus, but also to allow Tribby to grow in her own professional development. The goal of the fellowship program is to allow Team Impact fellows to learn their identity in and out of sport, how they can impact the world around them, and how to use their strengths to the best of their abilities.
"I am beyond excited to be selected as a fellow for Team Impact," said Tribby. "After witnessing the influence this program has made firsthand watching my older sister engage as a fellow for her softball team, I have been perusing the opportunity to work with Team Impact ever since. I truly admire and believe in their mission and am excited to contribute in any way I can to ensure the extraordinary experience of college athletics can be shared with the strongest kids I can think of."
Team IMPACT provides children with a dose of life beyond illness, helping them experience the power of sports, the support of mentors, and the simple joy of being a kid. Participating teams gain a sense of purpose and connection with the community, while also learning about the challenges faced by children with serious illnesses or disabilities.
"What an unbelievable opportunity for Delanie to be able to be part of this incredible program", said Head Women's Tennis Coach Maru Brito. "She is a selfless leader that loves helping and inspiring others. She is someone you want to have on your team as she represents everything that Tulane embodies. She is one of the most positive people I have ever encountered, and she will make an impact in a lot of lives. We are very proud of her and can't wait to see her journey with Team Impact!"
In her new role, Tribby will work with the national Team Impact staff, Tulane administration, Green Wave athletics teams as well as multiple Team Impact children and their families to strengthen the bonds on campus and our community.
