Tulane Hosts Memphis and Louisiana Tech this Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's tennis team returns home this weekend to host a pair of matches at City Park Tennis Center on Friday and Sunday, March 28 and 30. The Green Wave will start by facing league foe Memphis at 3 p.m. on Friday before squaring off with another in-state opponent in Louisiana Tech at 12 p.m. Sunday.

The Wave holds a 7-2 record in home matches this season including a ranked victory over No. 66 Princeton on March 13. Both matches this weekend will be played at City Park Tennis Center. The match between the Green Wave and the Tigers will also air live on ESPN+ at 3 p.m.

This will be the 11th matchup all-time between Tulane and Memphis with the Green Wave trailing the series 4-6 with losses in each of the last four meetings. The Wave is 3-2 against the Tigers in New Orleans despite dropping the last matchup at home 4-1 on March 5, 2023. The last time Tulane defeated Memphis came at home on April 14, 2021, by a final score of 4-3.

The Green Wave and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have only met once before on the court with Tulane winning that matchup 4-1 at home on April 1, 2017.

Tulane is coming off an 0-2 trip to Texas last weekend where the Wave lost to conference foes UAB and North Texas on March 22-23.

Leading the Green Wave in singles is freshman Campbell Ricci holds a 9-2 mark this spring at the No. 1 spot for Tulane. In doubles action Tulane is paced by Ricci with Leigh Van Zyl who hold a 8-3 mark together at their No. 1 doubles slot.

Following the action this weekend, Tulane continue its homestand with matches against No. 27 Florida Atlantic and No. 45 Tulsa at City Park Tennis Center on Friday and Sunday, April 4 and 6.
