Tulane Begins ICSA Team Race Championships Thursday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will begin competition in the 2025 ICSA Team Race National Championships Thursday on the Providence River. The Green Wave will compete in the ICSA Open Team Race Championship from April 24-26 followed by the ICSA Women's Team Race Championship from April 27-28.

The ICSA Team Race Championships will be co-hosted by Brown and Rhode Island both championships launching from the Ted Turner '60 Sailing Pavilion and Edgewood Yacht Club in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Tulane will be the 12 seed as one of six conference champions in the field for the Open Team Race Championship. The other automatic qualifiers for the regatta include Navy, Michigan, Yale, Stanford, and College of Charleston. The remainder of the field is filled out by at-large selections including Harvard, Roger Williams, Boston College, Georgetown, Dartmouth, Brown, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Tufts, Coast Guard, and Bowdoin.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the Open Championship. Competition will also be streamed live on ESPN+ on Friday and Saturday, April 25-26.

The Green Wave will also be the 10 seed as one of six conference champions represented in the Women's Team Race Championship. The other automatic qualifiers include Cornell, Wisconsin, Yale, Stanford, and College of Charleston. Rounding out the field for the regatta will be at-large selections Brown, Harvard, MIT, Georgetown, Dartmouth, and Tufts.

For the Women's Championship races are set to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday and Monday. Live streaming will also be available for the final day on Monday on ESPN+.

Last spring Tulane finished tied for 15th in the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship and 11th overall in the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship in Boston.
