CRANSTON, R.I. – In the first of four national championship regattas for Tulane University sailing the Green Wave landed eighth overall out of 16 teams in ICSA Open Team Race National Championship. The championship regatta was hosted by Brown and Rhode Island at the Ted Turner '60 Sailing Pavilion and Edgewood Yacht Club on the Providence River.
Â
The Wave ultimately finished with an 8-14 record in the regatta to claim eighth place in the championships. Tulane opened by posting a 7-6 mark in the round of 16 to reach a sail off for seventh and eighth and advance to the round of eight.
Â
In the sail off the Green Wave went 1-1 to secure its spot in the round of eight in the championship. Unfortunately, Tulane struggled to find success in the round of eight failing to pick up another victory and finish eighth overall.
