Tulane Ready for ICSA Fleet Race Nationals

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will begin competition in the 2025 ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship Tuesday on the St. Mary's River. The Green Wave will start by racing in the western national semifinals on May 20-21 to advance to the national championship finals on May 22-23.

The ICSA Fleet Race National Championships will be hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland from the James P. Muldoon River Center in St. Mary's City, Maryland. Teams competing in the championship will be racing for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy.

In the western national semifinals 18 teams will be represented racing in two divisions (A & B) across 18 total rotations on the water. The top nine teams in the regatta after two days of competition will advance to the national championship finals.

Tulane enters the women's fleet race championship as the No. 7 overall seed and one of two teams from the SEISA conference represented in the semifinals. The Green Wave will hit the water against 17 other teams on Tuesday and Wednesday in the western national semifinals with a chance to reach the national championship finals on Thursday and Friday. The other teams racing alongside the Wave in the semifinals will be Brown, Christopher Newton, Clemson, College of Charleston, George Washington, Georgetown, Jacksonville, Northeastern, Northwestern, Roger Williams, Rollins, Tufts, Coast Guard, Navy, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Yale.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT on Tuesday and Wednesday for the semifinals. Competition will also start at 8 CT Thursday and Friday morning in the championship finals.

Following the women's fleet race national championship, Tulane will also compete in the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship beginning on Tuesday, May 27.
