Wave Rolls into ICSA Open Fleet Race Nationals

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will open competition in the 2025 ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship Tuesday on the St. Mary's River. The Green Wave will start by racing in the eastern national semifinals on May 27-28 to advance to the national championship finals on May 29-30.

The ICSA Fleet Race National Championships will be hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland from the James P. Muldoon River Center in St. Mary's City, Maryland. The semifinals will run on Tuesday and Wednesday with the finals to follow on Thursday and Friday.

In the eastern national semifinals 18 teams will be represented racing in two divisions (A & B) across 18 total rotations on the water. The top nine teams in the regatta after two days of competition will advance to the national championship finals.

Tulane enters the open fleet race championship as the No. 8 overall seed and one of two teams from the SEISA conference represented in the semifinals. The Green Wave will hit the water against 17 other teams on Tuesday and Wednesday in the eastern national semifinals with a chance to reach the national championship finals on Thursday and Friday. The other teams racing alongside the Wave in the semifinals will be Brown, Connecticut College, Cornell, Eckerd, Florida State, George Washington, Harvard, Hobart & William, MIT, Northeastern, Roger Williams, St. Mary's, Navy, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Webb Institute.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday and Wednesday for the semifinals. Competition will also start at 8:30 CT Thursday and Friday morning in the championship finals.
