NEW ORLEANSย โย Tulane volleyball will be back home in Uptown this weekend to host the Green Wave Classic inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The three-day tournament will feature the Wave with matches against Lamar, Louisiana Tech, and Southern.

Outside of the matches for Tulane the Green Wave Classic will include the following matchups:
Louisiana Tech vs. Southern โ Friday, 3 p.m.
Southern vs. Lamar โ Saturday, 1 p.m.
Lamar vs. Louisiana Tech โ Sunday, 1 p.m.

The Green Wave will begin their competition in the tournament on Friday against the Lamar Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. Tulane holds an 11-15 record all-time against Lamar with a 7-4 advantage in New Orleans. The last time the two programs squared off on the court the Wave came away with a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals on August 27, 2022, in Beaumont, Texas.

On Saturday, Tulane will take the court against its first of two in-state opponents of the weekend. The Wave will face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs for the 11th time in program history with the first serve set for 4 p.m. Entering Saturday's matchup Tulane holds an 8-2 series lead over the Bulldogs.

The Wave will close out its first home tournament of the season on Sunday against the Southern Jaguars at 4 p.m. Tulane has never lost to the Jaguars holding a 26-0 record in the series with a 3-0 sweep in the last meeting in 2004.

LAST WEEK
Tulane opened the 2025 season last weekend with a 1-2 performance at the Bearkat Invitational hosted by Sam Houston in Huntsville, Texas. After dropping its first two matches in five sets to McNeese and Southern Illinois the Green Wave bounced back to defeat Sam Houston 3-2 to close the tournament.

The duo of Avery Burks and Lauryn Mack highlighted the weekend for the Wave as the pair combined for 99 kills across three matches. Burks led the team with 64 kills to go with 36 digs and three blocks to earn a nod to the Bearkat Invitational All-Tournament Team. Meanwhile, Mack started her Tulane career with back-to-back 19-kill performances before ending the weekend with 45 total kills.

UP NEXT
The Green Wave will head back out on the road to compete in the Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, on September 12-13. Tulane will square off against Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, September 12, before taking on South Alabama on Saturday, September 13.
