No. 17 Green Wave Opens Spring Slate with Pair of SWIBC Tournaments
Jan 16, 2026 | Women's Bowling
PLANO, Texas – After a winter break, the No. 17 Tulane bowling squad returns to action this weekend with two Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (SWIBC) tournaments. The SWIBC V and VI will take place tomorrow and Sunday, respectively, at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas.
Â
For the SWIBC V on Saturday, teams will bowl four traditional games and 10 baker games. The SWIBC VI on Sunday will feature six traditional games. Eight women's teams are competing.
Â
Tulane last competed in late November, placing seventh in the Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan, Louisiana. The event wrapped up the fall slate of play, highlighted by Mia Stolakis earning event MVP honors.
Â
During the break in team competition, the Wave still made strides. In early December, Tulane moved up two spots in the NTCA Coaches Poll to No. 17 in the nation. Juanelyz Solla was named the 2025 Most Outstanding Athlete of the Year by the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee Bowling Federation. She received the award in Trujillo Alto on December 15. The new year opened with Stolakis and Sarah Rubi representing the Green Wave in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the USBC Team USA Trials and U.S. Amateur.
Â
So far on the campaign Tulane is 33-19 with four victories against top-10 foes and 12 total ranked wins. The Wave averages 191.1 pins per game.
Â
After a week off, Tulane returns to action with the Duquesne Invitational beginning on January 30. The three-day event takes place at AMF Lebanon Lanes in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is hosted by the namesake Dukes.
