Pierce Victorious as Tulane Falls at Baylor

WACO, TX – Tulane's Micah Pierce picked up a singles victory at No. 4 to account for the Green Wave's lone point in a 6-1 defeat at the hands of #25 Baylor Sunday afternoon at Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center in Waco.
The Bears improved to 2-0 following a 4-3 home win over Illinois on Saturday. The Olive and Blue dropped to 0-2.
Baylor also took the doubles point but Tulane's Summer Chandler and Campbell Ricci were ahead of 61st-ranked Na Dong and Zuzanna Kubacha 5-4 at No. 1 when it was clinched.
Chandler also took a singles set from Dong (ranked 40th) at No. 1 before eventually falling in three. At No. 6, Tulane's Natalia Fantini went to a super-tiebreaker against Neda Rahimkhani but surrendered it, 10-8.
The Green Wave is back in action next Saturday at the ITA Kickoff Weekend where it will face #4 Auburn at noon, while Nevada and Florida State do battle at 3 p.m. Sunday's consolation match will be held at 10 a.m., while the final is scheduled for 1 p.m.
