AUBURN, AL – The fourth-ranked Auburn women's tennis team defeated visiting Tulane 4-0 on Saturday afternoon on the first day of the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Auburn.

The Tigers improved to 8-0, while Tulane dropped to 0-3.

Auburn picked up the doubles point and then clinched the victory with singles triumph at Nos. 1, 3 and 4.

Tulane's Summer Chandler breezed to a 6-0 win in the first set of her No. 2 singles match, a contest that went unfinished as she trailed in the third set. Micah Pierce was leading #28 Ava Esposito in the second set of her No. 5 match when it was called. Esposito won the first set 7-5.

The Green Wave will face Nevada at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning in the bracket's consolation match. The Wolf Pack fell to 1-2 on Saturday after suffering a 4-3 defeat to Florida State, a match that was forced indoors due to the weather.
