
Swimming and Diving Named A CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Team

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane swimming and diving team was recently recognized for outstanding work in the classroom during the 2025 fall semester by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The program saw the 27 members of the squad put up a 3.59 fall GPA for head coach Amanda Caldwell to earn Scholar All-America Team honors by the CSCAA. In order to earn the national recognition, the team needed a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and higher for the semester.
Tulane was one of 709 teams from 414 institutions that were recognized nationally in the fall by CSCAA.
Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, praised the outstanding achievements, stating, "The academic commitment demonstrated by these teams is exceptional. These student-athletes continue to set a standard for excellence by succeeding at the highest level both in the pool and in the classroom, and the CSCAA is proud to recognize their dedication and achievement."
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
Last time out, the Tulane swimming & diving team won each of the three individual dual meets against the field with a 51-24 victory over North Texas, a 59-28 win over New Mexico and a 44-33 victory over Little Rock to win the Mardi Gras Invite with 166 points. The team had 20 event victories over the course of the two days. The Green Wave won the 200 medley relay (Andrea Zeebe, Paula Gaya Bisquerra, Eliza Lennox, Rafaela Sumida), the 200 free (Lise Coetzee), the 200 medley (Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou), the 200 breast (Gwen Shahboz) the 100 breast (Andrea Zeebe), the 200 free relay (Nicole Fant, Sumida, Olcaytu Hatipoglu, Lennox), the 400 medley relay (Lennox, Lise Coetzee, Hatipoglu, Sumida), the 200 IM (Ebba Holgersson), 100 IM (Zeebe), the 100 breast (Holgersson), 500 free (Coetzee), the 400 medley relay (Fant, Bisquerra, Petropoulou), the diving team event (Libby Brewer, Taylor Cekay, Kelsey Weddington), the 50 fly (Lennox, the 50 free (Lennox), the 50 breast (Bisquerra), the 400 IM (Shahboz), and the 1000 free (Coetzee).
The Green Wave will compete in their final regular-season meet against West Florida on Saturday, Jan. 24, beginning at 10 a.m.
