NEW ORLEANS – Green Wave fans can get their first look at the 2026-27 Tulane women's basketball team tomorrow night as they take the court for an exhibition contest against Loyola (New Orleans). The Wolf Pack makes the short trip across Freret Street for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
Â
Tulane has not yet played a game as the official season opener is not for another week. Loyola, who competes at the NAIA level, enters having played one game thus far, a 62-53 victory at Our Lady of the Lake in Texas on Saturday. Tulane and Loyola competed in a preseason exhibition last season as well, which the Wave won 80-53.
Â
Ashley Langford is entering her third year at the helm of her alma mater. Five players return from last season's squad, including a pair of seniors in Kanija Daniel and Jayda Brown. Daniel was tabbed to the American Preseason All-Conference Second Team after earning a spot on the league's all-newcomer team last season. Junior Sadie Shores returns alongside the sophomore duo of Madison Gordon and Shiloh Kimpson.
Â
Tulane welcomes eight newcomers to the squad with two freshmen and six transfers. The freshmen are guards Ja'Kyah Smith and Kennedy Simpson. Of the transfers, two are graduate students: Aizhanique Mayo from DePaul and Asha Sra from Charleston Southern. Edina Strausz (Davidson) and Khadee Hession (Georgetown) are juniors. Rounding out the roster and transfers are a pair of sophomores: Makayla Carter from Nevada and Nataliyah Gray from Mississippi State.
Â
The Wave will open the regular season at home on Monday, November 2, by hosting Texas Southern at Fogelman in Devlin. Tip-off is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. This is the first of five-straight home contests to begin the campaign, the most to open a season in program history. Included in that stretch is a bout against Alabama on Sunday, November 8. The game tips off at noon and will air on ESPN2, marking the third-straight season Tulane plays at least game on national linear television.
Â
Tomorrow's contest is not streamed, and Monday's official season opener will stream on ESPN+. Fans can purchase tickets to both contests and all home Green Wave games at TulaneTix.com.
