Tulane Begins Fall Slate with AVCA Pairs Qualifier
Oct 9, 2026 | Women's Beach Volleyball
KENNER, La. – The reigning Conference USA champion Tulane beach volleyball squad will begin its fall slate of action tomorrow with the AVCA Central Pairs Qualifier. The event takes place over the course of Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, at Coconut Beach Volleyball Complex.
Â
With its strong performance during the spring season, Tulane already owns one of two possible bids to the AVCA Pairs National Championships. The Green Wave will have two pairs competing in the bid division with the ultimate goal of securing the second possible bid. There are three other pools of play occurring: aqua, blue, and pink. These are non-bid matches.
Â
The bid division features 16 total pairs across eight schools: Tulane, LSU, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, LSU New Orleans, Southern Miss, McNeese, and ULM. Each program will be represented by two pairs. Tulane's first is the duo of Skylar Ensign and Katie Hansen, who will compete in pool 2. The tandem of Tawny Ensign and Kaydence Stormes will hit the sand in pool 4. Play will be conducted in a modified pool format with S. Ensign and Hansen opening against a ULM pair at 12:50 p.m. The winners of the opening matches will play in the second round, and the losers will play one another. In pool 4, T. Ensign and Stormes will square off against a Southern Miss pair at 1:40 p.m. before their second match at 4:10 p.m., also dependent on outcome.
Â
Tulane is set to have one pair compete in each of the aqua and blue divisions. The pink division will see a trio of Wave pairs in action.
Â
Play across all divisions will continue into Sunday, beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m. The bid division will be played to place.
Â
The fall slate will continue with two more AVCA events to follow. Next up will be an AVCA Team Event in Huntsville, Alabama, October 24-25. The AVCA Pairs National Championship will take place November 6-8, also in Huntsville.
