Friedler Snares Tiebreaker to Lift Wave to Road Victory

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Tulane's Asaf Friedler bounced back from a first set loss with wins in the second and third sets to clinch a 4-3 Green Wave win at UTSA on Friday afternoon.

UTSA's Enzo Vargas won the first set at No. 2 by a 6-2 score but Friedler rebounded with a 6-1 win in the second set and a 7-4 tiebreaker victory in the deciding set.

The Olive and Blue improved to 2-2 overall, while the Roadrunners dropped to 0-6.

Tulane started strong, capturing the doubles point with wins by Lance Nisbet and Daniel Phillips and No. 1 and a 6-2 win by Piotr Andrzejewski and Friedler at No. 3.

Andrzejewski breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and Alec Gaudin outlasted UTSA's Timeo Bretin at No. 3 with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 triumph.

The Green Wave will be back in action Sunday, February 22 against UNO in a match that will played at City Park Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
