
Tulane Hosts Two Home Regattas this Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing is set to host its first home regattas of the spring 2026 season on Lake Pontchartrain this weekend. The Green Wave will hold the Nelson Roltsch Open Team Race and the Green Wave Women's Team Race on Saturday and Sunday, February 28-March 1.

The Wave will compete among five other teams in the Nelson Roltsch Team Race over the weekend. Featured in the regatta along with Tulane will be teams from Stanford, Navy, College of Charleston, Wisconsin, and Miami. The last time the Green Wave hosted the Nelson Roltsch Team Race was in April of 2023 when Tulane finished in first place.
For the Nelson Roltsch Team Race a maximum of five round robins will be attempted. Racing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile the Green Wave Women's Team Race will feature the Wave racing against teams from Stanford and College of Charleston. The last time Tulane hosted the women's regatta it placed second behind Boston College in 2022.
The format for the Green Wave Women's Team Race will include a series of round robins, with a maximum of 10 rounds. Competition is also scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Â on Saturday and Sunday.
