Tulane Takes Second in Green Wave Women’s Team Race, Places Fourth in Nelson Roltsch Team Race

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing earned a second and fourth place finishes in a pair of home regattas on Lake Pontchartrain this weekend. The Wave placed second in the Green Wave Women's Team Race and landed fourth in the Nelson Roltsch Open Team Race.

The women's squad for Tulane in the Green Wave Team Race posted a 3-7 record through six rounds of racing to claim second place in the regatta. Skippers Lola Kohl, Oakley Cunningham, Ava Anderson, and Gabriela Vassel teamed with crews Skye Terrell, Caroline Caudron, Ella May Corckran, and Charlotte Casey to pick up all three victories over College of Charleston.

Meanwhile, in the Nelson Roltsch Team Race the Wave finished with a 5-5 record to land fourth in the regatta. Racing for Tulane in the regatta were skippers Tate Christopher, Christian Ebbin, and Hamilton Barclay with crews Hope Breslin, Sabrina Anderson, and Taylor Bartell. The Green Wave earned two wins on the water over both Miami and Wisconsin and collected one win over Navy.

Up next, Tulane will hit the road to compete in three regattas on Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8. The Green Wave will participate in the Bob Bavier Open Team Race and the Phebe Corckran King Women's Team Race hosted by College of Charleston as well as the St. Mary's Open Team Race hosted by St. Mary's College.
