Green Wave Wraps Competition in Tempe
Feb 28, 2026 | Men's Tennis
TEMPE, AZ – Tulane's men's tennis team battled mightily in both of its matches against ranked competition on Saturday but ultimately fell twice on the final day of play at the Diablos Collegiate Invitational.
The Green Wave was downed 4-3 by #64 Washington and dropped a 4-1 affair to #68 Boise State.
Tulane, who is 13-5 in doubles this spring, is now 3-5 on the season.
The team resumed its match against the Huskies after winning the doubles point Friday night. Doubles partners Daniel Phillips and Lance Nisbet each won their respective singles matches in three sets at Nos. 1 and 6, respectively. In all, five of the singles tilts went to three sets.
The Olive and Blue surrendered the doubles point to the Broncos but battled hard in singles as four more of those contests needed the extra set. Asaf Friedler (No. 2) and Alec Gaudin (No. 3) both emerged victorious, but Boise won at 4, 5 and 6 to gain the necessary split for the overall victory.
Tulane now turns its attention to Thursday when it welcomes Florida Atlantic for the program's inaugural competition at Goldring Tennis Center at 1 p.m. The Owls are currently 4-3 in 2025-26.
