
Pompa Paces the Wave at the Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Francesca Pompa finished the first tournament of the spring with back-to-back rounds under par to lead the lineup for Tulane women's golf at the Paradise Invitational hosted by Florida Atlantic. Pompa ended the three-round tournament tied for 22nd overall while the Green Wave placed 16th in the tournament. Â

In the 54-hole tournament the Wave finished with a total score of 910 (+46 – 310, 298, 302) to land 16th in the field of 16 teams.

Pompa closed the opening competition of the spring well for Tulane as she ended with consecutive rounds under par. She posted a 71 (-1) in the third and final round with four birdies to finish tied for 22nd overall with a total score of 218 (+2 – 77, 70, 71). The sophomore ultimately tied for fourth in the three-round tournament with 12 total birdies.

Gabriella Gilrowski was the next player to land on the leaderboard for the Green Wave as she hit three birdies in her final round to shoot a 73 (+1) on Wednesday. She ultimately closed the tournament with a 54-hole score of 223 (+7 – 80, 70, 73) to finish tied for 40th overall.

Next up in the standings for the Wave was Sophia Chen who finished tied for 77th overall with a three-round score of 233 (+17 – 76, 78, 79). She was followed by Sophia Macias and Cristina Albertazzi who landed 85th and tied for 86th, respectively, at the end of the tournament. Macias posted a total score of 237 (+21 – 77, 80, 80) while Albertazzi closed with a total of 239 (+23 – 80, 80, 79).

Tulane will journey to Greensboro, Georgia, for the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. The three-day tournament will be hosted by Mercer from February 20-22.
