
No. 17 Bowling Concludes Second Day of Flyer Classic

LOCKPORT, Ill. – The No., 17 Tulane bowling squad went 2-3 on day two of the Flyer Classic at Strike & Spare II, earning the No. 13 seed for tomorrow's bracket portion of the event. Mia Stolakis led the way for the Wave by placing in 21st.

Saturday's slate featured five traditional matches. Tulane fell in its opening game of the day, 1,020-921, to No.11 Sacred Heart. The Wave bounced back with a 1,024-994 victory over Oklahoma Christian before dropping a 1,002-978 contest to Quincy University. The Wave secured another rebound against Western Illinois, winning 960-871, but the day ended with a 1,029-954 loss to No. 7 Youngstown State.

Mia Stolakis was the top Wave bowler on the day, posting a 1,043 to finish 21st after bowling 200 or better in each game. She averaged 208.60 after games of 213-200-213-202-215.

Sarah Rubi was 37th after tallying 987 pins at an average of 197.40. Her games were 188-205-192-198-204. Linnea Holcomb was 51st with 958. She put forth games of 155-214-206-204-179 to average 191.60. Valeria Colon placed 62nd with a score of 927 after games of 182-217-194-160-174. She averaged 185.40. Rounding out the Tulane contingent is Juanelyz Solla in 64th, posting a 922 at an average of 184.40. She bowled games of 183-188-173-196-182.

With the two qualifying rounds of the event now in the books, Tulane collects the No. 13 seed in the 26-team field for tomorrow's bracket portion featuring three best-of-seven Baker matches. The Green Wave will open play against the No. 14 seed Wisconsin-Whitewater.
