LYNCHBURG, VA – The Liberty men's tennis team, ranked 63rd nationally, secured three three-set singles victories en route to a 5-2 win over visiting Tulane Friday afternoon in Lynchburg.
The Flames improved to 8-7 overall with the win, while the Green Wave fell to 4-7.
Tulane got strong efforts at Nos. 1 and 3 singles as Daniel Phillips and Alec Gaudin each won in straight sets.
Phillips and Lance Nisbet also made quick work of Liberty's R Santiago Arraez and Guy Vorwerk by winning 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
The Green Wave's next scheduled match is now Wednesday against New Mexico (4-9) at Goldring Tennis Center.
