No. 17 Tulane in Fourth Halfway Through USBC ITC Sectional
Mar 14, 2026 | Women's Bowling
FORT WORTH, Texas – The 17th-ranked Tulane bowling team began its quest to qualify for the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) Saturday at Cityview Lanes. The first half of the sectional qualifier took place today with the Green Wave in the qualification zone by slotting fourth through the first half of play.
Â
Each team in the sectionals will bowl 64 Baker games across the two days of action with each day consisting of two sessions for a total of four – four game Baker blocks. Tulane was tied for seventh at the conclusion of the first session today, holding a pin total of 2,931 through 18 games. The Green Wave rebounded nicely, however, tallying a score of 3,133 over the following 18 games to conclude the day at 6,064. Through the first half of the competition, Tulane stands in fourth place out of the 15 teams.
Â
Entering day two in fourth is key for the Wave as the top-four teams from each of the four sectional sites advance to the ITC. If Tulane can at least hold firm tomorrow over the final 32 games, the Wave can secure a berth in the USBC ITC in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Â
No. 12 North Carolina A&T finished the day in first with 6,504 pins. No. 15 Newman was second with 6,265, and No. 5 Louisiana Tech was the last team ahead of Tulane with 7,178 in third.
Â
The final 32 games will take place over two more 18-game sessions tomorrow with the final block serving as the position round. Should Tulane qualify for the ITC, the Wave will head to Green Bay in April.
