Tulane Takes Third & Fourth in Road Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing recorded third and fourth place finishes in a pair of separate regattas on the road over the weekend. The Green Wave placed third at the Charleston Women's Team Race in Charleston, South Carolina, while also taking fourth in the Southern New England Open Team Race in New London, Connecticut.

The women's team competing for the Wave in the Charleston Women's Team Race hosted by College of Charleston posted a 5-11 record to land third among five teams in the regatta. Tulane collected three victories over Old Dominion and a pair of wins over Coast Guard behind the sailing of skippers Ashley Hoguet, Sophia Dias, Lola Kohl, and Eliza Corral with crews Megan Cassidy, Caitlin Briggs, Martha Hughes, and Skye Terrell.

Over in the Southern New England Open Team Race hosted by Connecticut College the Green Wave claimed fourth place among eight teams competing in the regatta. Tulane finished with a 6-6 record collecting two wins over MIT and one victory over Connecticut College, Tufts, Yale and Roger Williams. Representing the Green Wave on the water in the fourth-place finish were skippers Tate Christopher, Ryan Ehnot, John Wood, Matheo Capasso, and Alejo Di Blasi alongside crews Parker Kumler, Hope Breslin, Sophia Adams, Claire Lewis, and Sloane Mullin.

Up next, Tulane will hit the road again to compete in a pair of regattas in Norfolk, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., on Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22. The Green Wave will take part in the Szambecki Open Team Race hosted by Old Dominion and the Blaire Herron Women's Team Race hosted by Georgetown.
