Green Wave Places Second & Third in Weekend Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing finished second and third in a pair of separate regattas on the road over the weekend. The Green Wave placed second at the Blaire Herron Memorial Women's Team Race in Washington, D.C., while also taking third in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race in Norfolk, Virginia.

The women's team competing for the Wave in the Blaire Herron Memorial Women's Team Race hosted by Georgetown posted a 6-4 record to land in second among the eight teams in the regatta. Tulane collected two victories over Dartmouth to go with wins over Cornell, Hobart & William, Old Dominion, and St. Mary's College behind the sailing of skippers Oakley Cunningham, Ava Anderson, and Lola Kohl with crews Caroline Caudron, Ella May Corckran, and Skye Terrell.

Over in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race hosted by Old Dominion the Green Wave claimed third place among 10 teams competing in the regatta. Tulane finished with a 9-4 record collecting two wins over Navy and one victory Dartmouth, Eckerd, Fordham, George Washington, Old Dominion, Rhode Island, and Stanford. Representing the Green Wave on the water in the third-place finish were skippers Kelly Holthus, Christian Ebbin, and Hamilton Barclay alongside crews Jonah Wozniak, Sabrina Anderson, and Taylor Bartell.

Up next, Tulane will hit the road again to compete in a pair of regattas in Norfolk, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., on Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22. The Green Wave will take part in the Szambecki Open Team Race hosted by Old Dominion and the Blaire Herron Women's Team Race hosted by Georgetown.
