Tulane Finishes Fifth in Dellenbaugh Women’s Team Race

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Tulane University sailing placed fifth among 12 teams competing in the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race hosted by Brown over the weekend. The Green Wave finished with a 7-9 record across the two-day regatta.

The Wave women's team began the northeast regatta with a 6-5 record in the first round on Saturday. Tulane earned victories over Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Tufts, and College of Charleston to advance into the Top 6 Gold round on Sunday.

In the Top 6 Gold round the Green Wave added one more victory to its performance defeating Yale to ultimately finish sixth in the regatta. Skippers Oakley Cunningham, Ava Anderson, and Gabriela Vassel teamed with skippers Hope Breslin, Ella May Corckran, Cate Anderson, Caitlin Briggs, and Charlotte Casey to total the seven wins on the weekend.

Up next, Tulane will return home to host three separate competitions from Thursday to Sunday, April 2-5. The Wave will start by hosting the SEISA Team Race Conference Championships on Lake Pontchartrain on Thursday and Friday, April 2-3. The conference championships will be followed by the Tulane Women's Team Race and the second Triad Scrimmage against Stanford on Saturday and Sunday, April 4-5.
