
Tulane Sweeps SEISA Team Race Conference Championships

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing swept the SEISA Team Race Conference Championships for the fifth consecutive year with an undefeated record across the two championship regattas. The Green Wave dominated the women's championship with a 6-0 mark before cruising to victory in the open championship with a 9-0 record.

In the SEISA Women's Team Race Championship the Wave competed against Texas A&M for the title on Thursday. Skippers Oakley Cunningham, Ava Anderson, and Gabriella Vassel teamed up with crews Hope Breslin, Cate Anderson, and Caitlin Briggs to roll to the conference title for Tulane with a 6-0 record against the Aggies.

On Friday the Green Wave hit the waters of Lake Pontchartrain for the SEISA Open Team Race Conference Championship against teams from Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas A&M – Galveston. The Wave rattled off three wins over each of the other teams in the championship regatta behind the sailing of skippers Kelly Holthus, Christian Ebbin, and Hamilton Barclay with crews Jonah Wozniak, Breslin, and Taylor Bartell.

Up next, the Green Wave will finish competition in the Tulane Women's Team Race on Lake Pontchartrain on Saturday before hitting the road for a pair of regattas. Tulane will to New London, Connecticut, for the Thompson Trophy Open Team Race and Annapolis, Maryland, for the Truxtun Umsted Open Fleet Race on April 11-12.
